My favorite place to photograph is in my home town of Old Orchard Beach, Maine! There are so many great spots for family photos, senior portraits, engagment photos, you name it! Each spot has a unique attribute. When deciding on the best spot to have your photos taken it is difficult to choose just one. I offer a variety of packages and some of those packages include multiple locations.
Old Orchard Beach, Maine: Old Orchard Beach itself has dozens of spots. My first go to spot is The Pier. It is one of the most recognizable spots here in OOB. It’s a great meeting point if you’re not completely familiar with the area. Not only does the pier make a great backdrop but the carnival rides also add a nice touch to your portraits. No matter how many times I’ve taken photos in this area it never looks the same. The tides are always changing and the sunsets produce a variety of beautiful colors. It is also a great spot to choose if you want to grab a snack or dinner without having to move your vehicle! I would suggest checking out Dickinson’s Candy for a treat and a slice of Bill’s pizza! (Gotta grab some Pier Fries right next to Bill’s as well.)
Pine Point, Maine: Pine Point is just a short drive (about 5-10 minutes) from The Pier. Pine Point is a much more private area. The beach is small but this coast line offers a great yet different scene. There are many boats and a smaller pier that can be used during the photoshoot. Pine Point also has a large parking lot so there is no trouble finding parking in this area! If you’re looking to dine out after your photoshoot in Pine Point my favorite spots are Baileys Seafood and Salty Bay!
Camp Ellis, Maine: Camp Ellis is about another 5-10 minute drive in the opposite direction of Pine Point. Once you make it all the way down the coast line you end up at Camp Ellis. Camp Ellis is best known for the Jetty. The Jetty is a path of boulders leading out into the sea that you can walk along. It does get a little traitorous beyond a certain point so this particular part of Camp Ellis may be best for couples and portraits. Other than the Jetty there are many boats, small walk ways, and some of the best sunsets! Camp Ellis also offers my favorite fried seafood spot “Huots.”
I hope this helps anyone looking for a photoshoot location in and around Old Orchard Beach, Maine! These are certainly not the only spots but just a few of my personal favorites. Remember you can choose one location or pick a different photoshoot package that offers multiple locations.
