Allyssa & Ryan’s wedding ceremony took place at Portland Headlight in Portland Maine. Naturally, we had to take photos in front of Maine’s most iconic lighthouse. Not only did they choose to have their wedding ceremony at one of Maine’s most desirable tourist destinations but this wedding took place during Portland’s Maine’s Old Port Festival weekend. After the ceremony, we headed straight to the Old Port for a Casablanca cruise which docks right outside of The Port Hole in Portland, Maine. Being that is was Old Port Fest weekend there was some serious energy all around when getting onto the party boat. Pretty much the most energetic introduction to date.
What I love most about a boat cruise wedding reception is how close it keeps all the guests. Friends and family don’t have to go to far to hit the dance floor or grab a drink, so the entertainment is always right around the corner. Allyssa & Ryan brought their little ones along for their big day and boy do these kids have some serious dance moves! The kids got right into the swing of things with the rest of the guests and were certainly a second source of entertainment for everyone. As the evening went on and the sun began to set we had a perfect backdrop for even more portraits of Allyssa & Ryan. What’s so great about the boat cruise is the landscape/background is constantly changing depending on where the captain takes us. This gave me the opportunity to capture this couple in a variety of different settings which I love having as many options as possible.
This wedding was my first boat cruise of the season. It certainly started off the season on a high note which with all the different elements they choose to incorporate into their day I expected nothing less than amazing. So much love for you two and our family! Can’t wait to share the rest of your wedding photos during our viewing party!
